Ingredients
Ingredients
8slicesRye bread, cubed
1poundCorned beef, thinly sliced or shredded
1can (14 ounces)Sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
2cupsSwiss cheese, grated
1cupThousand Island dressing
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
Cube the rye bread into bite-sized pieces and layer half of them evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Evenly lay half the corned beef over the bread layer, followed by half of the sauerkraut, and then half of the Swiss cheese.
Drizzle half of the Thousand Island dressing over this first layer.
Repeat the layers with the remaining bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese.
Finish by drizzling the rest of the Thousand Island dressing on top.
Lightly press the layers down with a spatula to compact slightly and ensure everything bakes together.
Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.
Let the bake rest for 10 minutes before serving. Slice into generous squares and savor that classic flavor!
Notes
For best flavor, use high-quality corned beef. You can substitute Swiss cheese with Gruyere or mild provolone if desired.
