  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or extract
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for rolling
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for rolling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and mix until fully combined.
  • Beat in the egg, vanilla bean paste or extract, and a pinch of kosher salt until smooth.
  • Sprinkle in the baking powder. Gradually add the flour, mixing just until the dough comes together.
  • In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Scoop the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each one in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
  • Place the coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Enjoy warm, or allow to cool completely for a firmer texture.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Freeze baked cookies for up to 2 months.
