Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for coating)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, mix milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Pour batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let bread cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  • Brush warm bread with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Slice and serve warm, or allow to cool to room temperature.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Warm in the microwave or toaster before serving for the best texture.
