  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for coating

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  • Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue beating until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together.
  • Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
  • Place the coated balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are best served warm with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for about 5 days, or freeze for up to a month.
