  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Crushed candy canes for topping

Instructions

  • Line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper, allowing overhang for easy removal.
  • In a saucepan, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter over low heat.
  • Stir constantly until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Fold in walnuts if using.
  • Pour mixture into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top, pressing them in slightly.
  • Refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
  • Lift out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares.

Notes

For a peppermint twist, add a few drops of peppermint extract. Experiment with toppings like sprinkles or mini marshmallows for variety.
