Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 15×10-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
Spread about two-thirds of the dough evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula or your fingers.
Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the base layer.
Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the cherry filling. It doesn’t have to fully cover—patches are perfect.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden and set. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
While cooling, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, almond extract, and milk to make the glaze.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars. Cut into squares and serve!
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Freeze individual bars for up to 2 months.
