Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread halved lengthwise
  • 2 cups cooked spaghetti noodles cooled slightly
  • 1 cup marinara sauce warmed
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning dried or homemade blend
  • to taste fresh parsley chopped, optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and position a rack in the center.
  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Stir until well blended.
  • Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise so you have two long bread halves. Place them cut side up on a baking sheet.
  • Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut surface of each bread half. Be generous near the edges for extra crispness.
  • Bake the bread halves in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, just until the edges start to crisp and the surface is lightly golden.
  • While the bread toasts, place the cooked spaghetti in a medium bowl and add the marinara sauce. Stir until the noodles are evenly coated.
  • Spoon the saucy spaghetti onto each toasted bread half, spreading it out in an even layer.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella generously over the spaghetti, covering the surface.
  • Return the loaded bread to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and starting to brown in spots.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, slice into portions, and serve warm.

Notes

Use day-old or slightly firm bread for best results. Shred your own mozzarella for better melting.
