Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Casserole Dish

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 1 medium Cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced

Canned Ingredients

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 cup Cooked rice
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Seasoning

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cheese

  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Beef broth

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get started while you prep the ingredients.
  • Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes with juice, cooked rice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all flavors.
  • Add the chopped cabbage and beef broth to the skillet, stirring gently. Let this mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until the cabbage starts to soften but still has some texture.
  • Transfer the entire mixture to a greased casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
