Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 large Italian bread loaf
  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, shredded
  • Parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready for the stuffed garlic bread.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until they are tender (about 5 minutes). Add the minced garlic and stir for 1 minute until fragrant. Toss in the sliced beef, cooking until it’s browned (about 4-5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Slice the Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise, creating a boat for the delicious filling. Scoop out a bit of the bread from the center to create extra space for the filling. Spoon the cheesesteak mixture evenly onto the bread, and top with shredded provolone cheese.
  • Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the bread is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool for a moment, and sprinkle with parsley if desired. Slice into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze sections of the stuffed bread for up to a month.
