Ingredients
1largeItalian bread loaf
1poundthinly sliced beef (such as ribeye)
1onion, sliced
1bell pepper, sliced
4clovesgarlic, minced
1tablespoonolive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
8ouncesprovolone cheese, shredded
Parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready for the stuffed garlic bread.
In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until they are tender (about 5 minutes). Add the minced garlic and stir for 1 minute until fragrant. Toss in the sliced beef, cooking until it’s browned (about 4-5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Slice the Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise, creating a boat for the delicious filling. Scoop out a bit of the bread from the center to create extra space for the filling. Spoon the cheesesteak mixture evenly onto the bread, and top with shredded provolone cheese.
Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the bread is golden brown.
Remove from the oven, let cool for a moment, and sprinkle with parsley if desired. Slice into pieces and enjoy!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze sections of the stuffed bread for up to a month.
