Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and onion is soft, about 5–7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Mix sauces in a medium bowl: combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, ketchup, and mustard. Stir well until smooth.
Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Pour the sauce over the meat and spread to evenly cover. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the sauce layer.
Arrange the fries in an even layer on top of the cheese.
Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crispy and the casserole is bubbly.
Garnish with your choice of diced pickles, chopped tomatoes, lettuce, or extra cheese, and serve hot.
Notes
Allow leftovers to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, portion the casserole into individual servings and freeze for up to 2 months.
