Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Serrated Knife
  • Foil

Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 large loaf crusty bread (sourdough or Italian)

Butter and Seasoning

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Using a serrated knife, make diagonal cuts into the loaf of bread, about 1-inch apart, but don’t cut all the way through.
  • Rotate the bread and make another set of diagonal cuts to create a crosshatch pattern.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
  • Carefully open the cuts in the bread and drizzle the garlic butter mixture between the slices.
  • Stuff the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese into the cuts.
  • Wrap the bread in foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
  • Unwrap the bread and bake for an additional 5 minutes to make it extra crispy.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

To keep any leftovers, wrap the bread tightly in foil or plastic wrap. Store it in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to bring back the crispy texture.
