Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • Candy Thermometer
  • 8-inch Square Baking Pan
  • Spatula

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2/3 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1 cup Chopped Apples (peeled)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, evaporated milk, and salt. Stir over medium heat until the sugars dissolve and butter melts.
  • Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  • Continue boiling until the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (238°F/113°C) on a candy thermometer.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and chopped apples.
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Let cool at room temperature for about 2 hours until firm. Lift out, slice into squares, and serve!

Notes

Swap apples for pears or cranberries for a fun twist! Stir continuously to prevent crystallization and ensure a creamy texture. Perfect for gifting during the holidays or for cozy nights in.
