Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 4 large Portobello mushrooms

Garlic Butter

  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced

Seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese and Herbs

  • Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for perfect baking.
  • Gently clean the portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt and remove the stems.
  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter with minced garlic, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place the cleaned portobello caps on a baking sheet. Brush the garlic butter generously over each mushroom.
  • Place a slice of fresh mozzarella in each portobello cap and sprinkle fresh basil on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze for an extra touch of flavor.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving, and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh mozzarella and basil for the best flavor. A drizzle of balsamic glaze adds sweetness and depth.
