Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 pound bowtie pasta

Meat

  • 1 pound ground beef

Vegetables

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Sauces

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Toss the cooked pasta with the meat sauce until evenly coated.
  • Serve garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

To store leftovers, place the pasta in an airtight container and refrigerate. It will keep well for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm it on the stovetop or in the microwave.
