Ingredients

Chicken Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk

Breading Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Frying Ingredients

  • as needed cup oil for frying

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce

Instructions

  • Marinate chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  • Mix flour, salt, and pepper in one bowl. In another bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
  • Dredge each piece of chicken first in the flour mixture, then dip it back into the buttermilk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  • For the sauce, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, honey, and hot sauce in a bowl.
  • Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until each piece is well coated.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure your oil is hot enough before frying the chicken. You can adjust the hot sauce in the sauce recipe to make it spicier or milder, depending on your taste.
