Ingredients

For the Banana Bread Brownies

  • 2 pieces Eggs
  • 3 pieces Ripe Bananas, mashed
  • 1.5 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 0.5 cup Butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 0.75 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Walnuts, chopped

For the Frosting

  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 3 tablespoons Milk

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 13×9-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, sugar, and sour cream together until light and creamy.
  • Add the eggs and mashed bananas to the mixture. Stir in vanilla extract. Mix until combined but do not overbeat.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir gently until just incorporated.
  • Fold in the chopped walnuts for some delightful crunch and extra flavor.
  • Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the edges are slightly golden.
  • While brownies cool, prepare the frosting: In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and spreadable.
  • Spread frosting evenly over slightly warm brownies. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months.
