  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 10 small flour or corn tortillas
  • as needed cooking spray or olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure even cooking.
  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salsa, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is fully combined.
  • Step 3: If using flour tortillas, warm them in the microwave for about 20 seconds to make them more pliable.
  • Step 4: Take a tortilla, add about 2 tablespoons of the filling to the center, and roll it tightly. Place seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Step 5: Lightly spray or brush the tops of the rolled taquitos with cooking spray or olive oil.
  • Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until crispy and golden-brown.
  • Step 7: Let them cool for a few minutes before serving with your favorite dipping sauces like salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.

Notes

Leftover taquitos can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes until crispy.
