Equipment

  • Loaf Pan
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup applesauce unsweetened or sweetened, depending on preference
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil such as canola or sunflower
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the applesauce, sugar, oil, and eggs until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet. Stir until just combined—don’t overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temp.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding raisins, walnuts, or chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
