Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Rolling Pin

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Premade pie crusts Thawed if frozen
  • 2 pieces Apples Peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 piece Egg Beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar For sprinkling
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon For sprinkling
  • to taste Caramel sauce For dipping, warmed slightly
  • to taste Whipped cream For dipping (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the chopped apples with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a bowl until evenly coated.
  • Roll out the pie crusts on a flat surface. Spread the apple mixture over one crust, leaving a small border around the edges to seal.
  • Place the second crust on top and press gently around the edges to seal the filling inside. Use a rolling pin to lightly flatten and make the layers stick together.
  • Cut the layered crust into strips about 1 inch wide, then cut those strips into fry shapes roughly 3 to 4 inches long. Use a fork to press the edges if needed to ensure a good seal.
  • Brush the top of each fry with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the prepared sugar and cinnamon mixture for a sweet, sparkling finish.
  • Transfer the fries to the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart, and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving warm with caramel sauce or whipped cream for dipping.

Notes

Store cooled Apple Pie Fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat briefly in a 350°F oven for 5 to 7 minutes to refresh crispiness.
