Ingredients

For the Pudding

  • 8 cups Bread, cubed (preferably dry or day-old)
  • 3 medium Apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon (divided)
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup Sugar + 2 tbsp (divided)
  • 1/2 cup Raisins

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, milk, eggs, 1 tsp cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1/2 cup sugar.
  • Add chopped apples and raisins. Fold in the bread cubes until evenly coated. Pour into the baking dish.
  • Mix remaining 2 tbsp sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle over the top.
  • Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  • Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine butter, heavy cream, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce and simmer 5 minutes.
  • Drizzle warm caramel sauce over individual servings. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

Best with tart apples like Granny Smith. Can be made ahead and baked the next morning. Sauce can be doubled for extra indulgence.
