Apple Fries are a sweet and crunchy treat that everyone loves. They are easy to make and perfect for snacks or dessert. When you dip them in warm caramel sauce, they become even more delicious!

Ingredients

Apple Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and cut into wedges Tart apples like Granny Smith are recommended.

Coating Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Oil for frying Use enough oil to submerge the apple wedges.

Caramel Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • First, heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix cornstarch, cinnamon, and sugar together.
  • Toss apple wedges in the cornstarch mixture until they are well coated.
  • Fry the apple wedges in batches until they are golden and crispy, which takes about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Once done, drain them on paper towels.
  • To make the caramel sauce, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and it is smooth.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla.
  • Serve your apple fries right away with warm caramel sauce for dipping.

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying for the best crispiness. You can also add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for extra flavor!
